Shrimp with coleslaw? That is what I thought too until I tried this AMAZING salad
recently. And just when you are wondering if the two would taste crazy good together,
WE ADD BLUE CHEESE! The dressing balances out the cabbage and shrimp perfectly.
We made this recently for friends who came over for an evening BBQ, to say that it
was a hit would be an understatement. This is so easy and delicious we have been making
it at least once a week lately.

Shrimp & Blue Cheese Coleslaw Recipe
makes 4-6 servings as a side dish
One 16 oz bag of prepared coleslaw mix (red and green cabbage, carrots)
2/3 cup coleslaw dressing
2/3 cup blue cheese dressing
1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese
dash of cayenne pepper
1/2 pound of small salad shrimp (pre-cooked)
Combine first four ingredients along with pepper in a mixing bowl and combine well.
Pour into a serving dish and top with shrimp. Chill until ready to eat.
You may also add red grapes, chopped apple, cherry tomatoes, or crumbled bacon
as well.
It’s that easy!
I told you I wouldn’t keep you in the kitchen long.
Now pour yourself some iced tea and put your feet up
while the BBQ does the work, and enjoy a wonderful,
fresh summer meal.
Thank you as always for reading friends, and I will see you tonight for another

These look perfect for a summer cookout. I love that the citrus dressing keeps the coleslaw crisp instead of heavy and soggy, and the shrimp makes it feel special without much effort. I tried a similar version last weekend and the whole bowl was gone in minutes. Thanks for sharing such a clear recipe. And on a lighter note, after dinner we like to play orbit kick on the tablet as a family, so this salad plus a quick game made a great evening.

Blue cheese is the part that makes this work, because coleslaw dressing alone is too sweet against shrimp. We serve a close cousin on day-trip lunches at Yachting Thailand: cabbage, a sharp dressing and whatever small shrimp came in that morning. Two notes from doing it at sea: keep the shrimp separate until serving or they water the cabbage, and the cayenne goes further than people expect once the bowl sits in heat. Easy recipe, which is the whole point.
The focus on loving the home you have now comes through clearly, especially in the examples of mixing vintage and thrifted mirrors with picture frames and giving a wooden footstool a makeover. The spring wreath and cottage-style laundry room ideas also fit that practical, gradual approach. I’ve been browsing here lately for similar home inspiration.
