I have been so excited to share my neutral vintage inspired Halloween decor today with you!
It all started with the soft black cheesecloth Halloween fabric from Dollar Tree.
From there I knew I wanted our formal living room mantel to be a teeny bit spooky, have a vintage inspired vibe and include Tony the cement bust.

Tony is a force to be reckoned with (I am the only one who actually likes this bust in our house) and I knew he needed something fun to dress him up for spooky season.
I found the witch hats hanging from the ceiling as well as his teeny little witch hat (how cute is that?!) at Goodwill and it was time to put it all together this weekend!

I ordered the precut bats from Amazon, you can find the link here. They even come with little sticky double sided squares to hang them up with!
I used torn pieces of muslin to create the base of the fabric garland, and added my dark cheesecloth drape.

The mirror is my great-grandmothers, and I used some brown satin ribbon on each black candlestick to bring the soft, vintage vibe I was going for.
Some old books, a small clock, and a little votive (also thrifted!) with my sheet music feathers I shared recently in a silver plate pitcher.
I have had the skull profile with top hat for a while but I think he really brings a dark academia feel to the mantel.

Perhaps he is wondering why he too does not have a teeny witch hat.
Maybe next year 😉
Well, that is my slightly spooky, vintage inspired, bat and witch hat mantel.
And it came together in less than 30 minutes!

I would love to hear what you are up to and if you decorate inside and outside your home for Halloween. It is such a fun time of year, remembering those cold nights in the less than comfortable costume that would surely help us gather pounds of candy in just a couple hours.
This time of year feels like the little kid in us gets to join in the fun too, and maybe, just maybe that little witch hat will finally get my family to love Tony like I do once and for all.
Thank you so much for reading friend!
Stay cozy, until next time- xo Tanya

You are so sweet, thank you so much Kerryanne!! xx Tanya
This mantel looks amazing! I love how you combined the Dollar Tree fabric with thrifted finds. The precut bats from Amazon are a great touch. It’s so cool that you made the garland from muslin. I remember making similar DIY decorations as a kid. Do you think you’ll add more items next year or keep it as is? And what’s your favorite part of the whole setup? I’m also curious if you have any other spooky spots in your house!
