I keep watching the forecast for snow but besides a couple of teeny flurries we have yet to see it actually snow.
I am remaining hopeful as sometimes in Southwest WA we have no snow or we get a foot in February. It’s just how things are here lol ๐
Are you all ready for Christmas, partially or have not started? I am sandwiched in the middle somewhere and determined to keep it as simple as possible this year.
One of the ways that I keep it simple is handmade gifts, and decor for our home. It does not need to be expensive to be meaningful and bring you joy right?!
I love gingerbread houses and I thought a cute garland that I could hang up anywhere would be a fun craft that would store well after Christmas too.
Are you ready to make a super easy, and cozy paper gingerbread garland? Let’s do this!
Supplies:
Smooth and corrugated cardstock, hot glue, scissors, white paint pen, green pipe cleaners, narrow red and white ribbon, and jute twine to hang them on.
I used the smooth cardstock for the “houses” and the corrugated for the roof on each house.
I made 5 houses cutting the rectangles in varying sizes, and the corrugated paper in triangles large enough to have an overhang on each house.
Using a thin line of hot glue I glued each roof on, and used the white paint pen to freehand the windows, doors, and scrolly designs on each. They are not perfect and I kind of like them better that way ๐
Next I cut three pipe cleaners in half and twisted them into a small wreath. The wire on the ends was easy to twist and secure where the ends meet on each wreath.
Two of them I used the ribbon to make a little wreath hanger and the other three a little bow for each.
A dot of hot glue secured each wreath and the same on the top back roof of each house with the jute twine to hang the houses and create the garland.
I love how it turned out and it won’t take any space to store at all when it’s time to tuck it away for next year.
I just checked the forecast again, no snow in sight but if wishing brought the snow I am sure we will see some soon. I hope this finds you cozy and crafty, thank you so much for reading!

What a great idea, Tanya! I love how fun and festive it looks but is super easy to store unlike garlands of greenery.
