Beaded succulent wall hanging DIY

Hey friends! How is your July going?

I cannot believe how quick this summer is flying by, I wish it would slow down a bit and not be mid July already 🙂

I was organizing some of my craft supplies recently and got some inspiration for a new wall hanging. I had already purchased this large faux succulent and I was not sure what I was going to do with it (how all craft supplies are purchased right?)

I set aside some natural thick cotton twine and some pre-strung beads and realized this would make a super easy and pretty DIY wall hanging!

A bag of finished or unfinished wood beads in the color of your choice would work great too, then some narrow twine to sting them on to get the same effect.

I began by using a small thin board that was left over (like the thickness of a paint stir stick) and cut it in 2 14″ long pieces.

I measured each of the cotton twine pieces and the pre-beaded strings 40″ to give enough length to glue the top on the base piece of wood, then bring them to the other side to glue down.

Once each row was secured on each end in order, they had an overlapping effect that I really like. Next I cut a piece of twine 20″ long and knotted it at each end. I glued those knots down then glued the front piece of wood on with hot glue to cover all the ends and complete the front.

I tried a few different things to attach the stem of the large succulent to the wood but ended up drilling a hole and hot-gluing it in place. On the back I trimmed the end of the stem flush and my DIY beaded succulent wall hanging was complete!

This took under 45 minutes since I used hot glue which dries quickly and pre-strung beads. If you string your own beads it may take a bit longer.

I am loving it, what do you think? This could go in 20 different spaces in our home and maybe with a smaller succulent be awesome on a door.

Right now it’s in our ever-changing entry way and I love the fun beachy vibes it’s giving!

As always, thank you for reading and I hope you are having an amazing day 🙂

xo, Tanya

  1. This DIY beaded succulent wall hanging sounds like a fun project! I love how you repurposed craft supplies. I once bought a random item and had no clue what to do with it, just like you with the faux succulent. Did you try any other attachment methods for the succulent stem before drilling? And where do you plan to hang yours first in the house?

That little paint-stir-stick comparison made the whole project feel instantly approachable. You kept the look airy and pretty without pretending it needed perfect materials, which makes the idea feel inviting.

  18. Instagram video download is one of the most searched topics by users who want to save their favorite Instagram reels and videos. Many people watch interesting content on Instagram every day and sometimes want to keep those videos for offline viewing. Since Instagram does not provide a direct option to download videos, users often use online Instagram downloader tools.

  19. I was looking for a simple way to do reel download without installing any app. After trying a few tools, most were slow or full of ads, but this one worked perfectly for me.

This wall hanging has a nice balance of texture and negative space, especially with the beads framing the succulent shapes without making the piece feel too heavy. I like saving projects like this as visual references when building quick decor concepts and 3D mockups.

  21. The beaded wall hanging makes the succulent shape feel more dimensional without turning the project into something hard to repeat. I keep similar reference notes for visual motion workflows at Kling AI Motion Control, especially where materials and small design choices affect how a scene reads.

  22. This wall hanging is a clever way to combine the texture of wood beads with the softer shapes of succulents. The spacing and simple frame keep the finished piece from feeling too busy, and the step-by-step photos make the layout easy to recreate.

  23. I’d be interested in contributing to your blog as a writer. Your content is insightful and engaging, and I believe I could add value with well-researched, thoughtfully written articles that would connect with your readers. 24. Such a calming DIY. Crafting like this is my favorite way to unwind and rest my brain after spending hours gaming and playing Ragdoll Hit. It’s the perfect addition to a cozy room!

  25. The mix of the natural branch, neutral beads, and soft green succulents is beautifully balanced. I especially like the suggestion to lay out the strands before attaching them; that small planning step makes it much easier to judge spacing and visual weight. This would be a lovely way to add texture to a narrow wall without making it feel crowded.

  29. Facebook privacy and features change so fast, so a comprehensive guide like this is super helpful. Taking a quick jewel shuffle break before checking out more of your book recommendations!

  30. This beaded succulent wall hanging is such a clever way to get a bit of green into a room without worrying about watering schedules. I tried something similar last spring with a wooden dowel and some leftover craft cord, and the hardest part was definitely spacing the strands so the beads did not clump together at the bottom. Your tip about working from the center strand outward would have saved me a lot of unpicking. I also like that the colors can be swapped by season, the pale greens and soft pinks look lovely together. One thing I would add for anyone attempting this: photograph the finished piece in daylight before hanging it, because the bead finish catches the light in a way that indoor lamps just flatten out. I ran my photos through a low quality meme maker afterwards so the files were small enough to share in the family group chat, and they still looked good enough to convince two friends to make their own. Thanks for the clear step by step photos, they made the whole project feel very doable.

  31. What a fun project! I have been looking for a way to bring some greenery into my apartment without dealing with watering schedules, and faux succulents in a wall hanging are such a clever solution. The bead wrap around each stem is such a pretty detail, and I love that you used leftover beads from old jewelry so nothing goes to waste. The wooden dowel frame looks simple enough that even a beginner could follow along with your step by step photos. I might add a few small shells from our last beach trip to mix in with the beads for a coastal feel. My daughter saw the finished piece and now she wants to make one for her own room, so this may turn into our weekend craft project. I always enjoy fresh ideas like this one, and Summer Rider is one of my favorite stops for simple creative inspiration. Thanks for sharing the full tutorial!

  32. The combination of natural wood, beads, and the small succulent pocket gives this project a nice balance between texture and simplicity. I especially like the idea of laying out the bead spacing before tying the final knots, because it makes the finished hanging look intentional rather than uneven. For a longer-lasting version, sealing the wood lightly and using a removable plant liner would also make watering and seasonal updates much easier.
