Hello there!
We have had a lot of crazy weather this week with lots of sunshine one moment and torrential rain the next. But, I guess that is what makes the Pacific NW so pretty and green!

Now that all of the Halloween festivities are behind us, I have been thinking a lot about Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have chosen different areas of our home to organize and deep clean each week knowing that busy days will follow as we get closer to the end of the year.
I have always loved Thanksgiving, having family and friends near, and well honestly the food is pretty exciting too.
And of course, Thanksgiving weekend is when I officially give myself permission to pull down the Christmas totes and turn our little home into Santa’s Workshop.
But first, Thanksgiving dinner, lest I get ahead of myself, as I do often 🙂
I wanted to create a very simple, casual backdrop for our Thanksgiving meal this year but still maintain a bit of elegance at the same time.

I like the idea of using a neutral background and immediately thought of kraft paper! I have seen the pre-printed rolls you can order online but really felt with the amount of craft supplies I have that there must be something to make my own.
I came across this pretty floral stamp and while I did not have any ink pads, I knew a bit of black acrylic paint would work great too.

This took me less than 30 minutes to do from start to finish, a great time saver and budget friendly too!
I left an overhang of paper on each end of our dining room table of a few inches, smoothing each out and taping the corners to secure them under the table.
Next, I put some black acrylic paint on a small paper plate and each time I used the stamp I brushed a bit of paint over the stamp surface with a foam brush.

It only took a few minutes to dry and I experimented with some plates and florals until I got the combination how I wanted it.

It was so easy and I love the warm, neutral base this created for our table.
Do you choose a theme for each Thanksgiving or stick to tradition? I find myself doing a bit of both every year, trying to find a few new things to incorporate but it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without our favorite vintage hotel flatware and Christmas music going quietly in the background while we cook together.

I hope this finds you having a wonderful week, staying warm and surrounded by the people and things that matter to you most.
Until next time, stay cozy & warm!
xx Tanya

This looks amazing, Tanya! I love anything with kraft paper and the stamp you chose is so pretty. We’ll be celebrating the weekend at my parent’s house for the first time ever. It’s going to be weird not to be at the farm or the cabin but I’m excited to make some new memories. Can’t wait to incorporate some of these cozy touches too! Hugs, CoCo
I totally understand CoCo, celebrating away from our homes when we are used to hosting is sure different but also wonderful! Here’s to new memories my friend! xx Tanya

What a clever option for a table runner, Tanya! I’m thinking a Christmas ornament stamp or even a nativity stamp would be great for the upcoming season! I’m delighted to be featuring your post at the party this week! Pinned!

This is such a fun DIY idea! I love how you used kraft paper for a simple yet elegant Thanksgiving table runner. The floral stamp really adds a touch of charm. I can relate to getting ahead of the holidays, like you with Christmas. Have you ever tried using different stamps or colors? Maybe a fall-themed leaf stamp for a different look. And how do you think this runner would hold up if you had a big family gathering and lots of spills? 😜
Love this idea of using kraft paper for a Thanksgiving table runner! It’s so simple yet elegant. I once made a similar DIY for a party using plain paper and stamps. It was a hit! How did you come up with the floral design? Any other ideas for quick Thanksgiving decor?
I loved the simplicity of this kraft paper table runner idea and how stamping adds such a personal, handmade touch to a gathering. I often think about how small details set the mood, whether it’s table decor or meaningful accessories. This kind of DIY inspires me to pair natural textures on the table with delicate jewelry pieces, like minimalist birthstone jewelry that carries personal stories. That’s one of the reasons I’m drawn to collections like birthstone rings, where each piece feels intentional and symbolic. Mixing handmade decor with thoughtfully chosen birthstones creates a warm, memorable atmosphere that guests genuinely notice.
That’s so impressive! I’ll try making this for my family for Christmas grow a garden
What a lovely and inspiring DIY! I absolutely love how simple yet elegant the stamped kraft paper table runner looks — such a creative way to bring a warm, personal touch to a Thanksgiving or holiday table. The floral stamp you chose really elevates the natural kraft paper, and it’s great to know this project can be done in under 30 minutes with materials many of us already have at home. I’m excited to try this idea myself and maybe even experiment with other stamp designs or seasonal themes — thank you for sharing such a beautiful and budget‑friendly craft!
